Session
Opening

Dear Michael and Mother Spirit, tonight with gratitude, humility, and trust, we want to acknowledge your presence in our lives. The gratitude part is our worship, our thankfulness just for the fact you two exist, and all you do for us. Our trust is, we know you love us so much that, even if we are not always conscious of what you are doing and the part you are playing in our lives, you are still here, waiting for us to acknowledge your presence. And so we do. We try to do so a number of times a day, to say, “Thank you, Mom! Thank you, Dad! And thank you, Grandpa–our mutual Father–for these lives we have, and for all these wonderful folks all around us.” We do treasure that they are a biggest part of our soul–all these other unique beings, these human beings we have shared so much with. And so we thank you, dear parents, and we await your next word. Amen.

Lesson

MICHAEL:  Good evening, my children, this is Michael. We are as delighted to be your parents are you are to have us, and we thank you for acknowledging our presence and what we do for you. We never do it quite as you. We always acknowledge your personality and your free choice, minute to minute and sometimes moment to moment, in how you deal with what you are experiencing. So we are all the more appreciative when you yourselves acknowledge us and even reach–with all your wonder and your curiosity–for just what it is we are doing. This reaching for us is as profound as your wondering what you yourselves are doing in your own lives on so many levels— conscious and unconscious–by conscious choice or simply by habit. Tonight I would like to review a few of the most basic tenants of our faith so wonderfully delineated and set out in your marvelous Urantia Book, that gives the most comprehensive story ever told of Mother Spirit and I, as well as our mutual Father.

 (God’s creativity, and his sharing it with us)

Everything always starts with our mutual Father who is the First Source and Center of all that exists–everything. He is a single personal being whose greatest power is one of creativity, of originating something right out of himself. (You could even say herself since God is upstream and before his delineation of sexual beings like yourselves) His power of creativity is so closely tied to his nature of sharing–his desire and fulfillment, moment by moment, of sharing himself with other personal beings that he himself creates, and then gives them a little nudge—life! And so he is sharing his creativity with his children, with you, with Mother Spirit and me. He is sharing his creativity so that we too have the dignity of being free-willed, being able to create something right out of ourselves, right out of our own unique beings–and incessantly so!–just as part of our nature.

This personal being, God, who is the creator of our personality, our uniqueness in all of Creation, endows us with that full measure of creativity your Urantia Book calls our own co-creativity. This is how we too can come up with something, right out of our own unique personal essence, to choose.

 (Origin of choice and free will)

This is the origin of choice. This is the dignity of being a free-willed being. This freedom is the most critical thing that Mother Spirit and I teach so often. It is how you yourselves, as human beings—personal beings–are co-creating your very reality. We say co-creating because obviously you didn’t create this solid body you have, and the whole world surrounding you with all the people in it. But you are creating the way you experience–and thus your soul, by your choices, your conscious choices. Yet this is the very meaning and the value you seem to discover in reality “out there.” Think of your personal possessions and all the meaning and value they have for you, that seems intrinsically right in them, yet actually has its origin in you.

So God creates your personality and gives you creativity so you too can choose to share your self and experience this second great aspect of his nature. You have some choice in sharing yourself with others, and delighting in their creativity–that they too are a little walking nodule of creativity. They too can express and share with you their uniqueness, right from God.

 (Fatalism & prejudice)

Here you might say: The greatest liberating thing is obviously to be aware of your own co-creativity. Be aware of what you yourself are contributing to your own life because this is the realm of your greatest freedom. If you do not know what you yourself are creating in your own life, this can lead to a kind of pervasive, all-encompassing fatalism, that somehow or another you are just a helpless pawn in a current of events. It is almost as if you have no personality, or your personality is just helpless in the stream of time.

Even worse, it causes some to creatively, but unconsciously, project their own value and meaning onto others. This is the origin of the most vicious, cruel and obscene kind of projection: prejudice. It’s pre-judging another human being based on their race, their sex, their age, their culture. At its worst it is even denying them their humanity, the fact that they too–just as yourself–they too are a son or daughter of God. They too are another unique being, and they have your same inner need for freedom, to be a free-willed creature and find their unique expression to share with everyone else.

 (Free choice and the origin of individuality)

This–if you will–is the origin of individuality. And again your Urantia Book so beautifully gives you the whole history of the evolution of societies, governments, and the way people relate with each other. The advancing of civilization can be the liberation of the individual from the tribal stage where, for hundreds of thousands of years, mankind existed in such a state of warfare with all their neighbors. Individuality was literally a wonderful grace that could not be afforded–yet. The individual had be submerged in the group simply for the survival of the group.

You see the same hierarchy of freedom and choice in organizations that are faced with enormous danger, such as the military, where everybody exists in a very special and necessary niche commanding those below and being commanded by those above. One’s individual freedom is subsumed by the group, and necessarily so.

But in society at large the trend of increasing civilization is the degree to which people can let each other be, more and more who they uniquely, individually are, right from God, with each their own unique soul of experience. This is the basis for tolerance and welcoming diversity. It’s being so secure within your own being that you can allow and even welcome and enjoy people being radically different, so long as they too can share in this generosity of spirit without threat.

 (Social evolution to welcome diversity)

MICHAEL: And so, my dear ones, appreciate the hundreds of years, the centuries and centuries it has taken for people to slowly evolve societies where more and more individuality can be expressed. They’ve come to realize this diversity is dependent upon each individual then to be able to respond in this positive way to others. This is why freedom only comes about with the full acceptance of response-ability–to be able to respond, yourselves, to others without prejudice.

We have teased you with the notion: You are walking down a busy city sidewalk and here they come, dozens of other unique souls, and it is right there in their faces. It is right there in their eyes. You can share an exchange of energy if you have total equanimity so strong and secure, and a good feeling in yourself, that you can just take whatever comes with that strength, and respond to it.

 (The essence of terrorism)

This is the trend of civilization. Yet this is still what you are confronted with advancing on dear Urantia in so far as there are whole systems of value and beliefs, and then behavior—actions which seek to deny in others their very freedom. These are individuals who group together to promulgate a certain way of life, and will resort to any kind of coercion, threat, and even violence in the most terrible, obscene kinds of actions against others–killing, maiming, threatening, demanding that their way becomes the only way. This still exists.

This knowledge is why there is such a deep motivation right within your own souls, my dear ones, to be as welcoming, forthcoming and accepting, yourself, as you can be. Hold in your heart this notion that God, the First Source and Center of all Creation, this personal being who created all others out of love, out of tenderness–then actually set them free, free even from himself, free even to do things that are totally antithetical to his love and support. Now: to be as much like him–as loving and supporting–as you can be?

 (God’s presence within)

This is my message for this evening. God’s center is always holding, and something you can tune into. He is a personal being you can relate with, for he has a presence right within you. He can actually adjust your thinking to this broader scope of his, right along with my Spirit of Truth and Mother Spirit’s Holy Spirit–all the little boosts she gives your own spirits and mentality.

You have a presence of God right within you, helping you see things in his loving, welcoming, accepting way. So this is something to meditate upon. This is something from time to time just …….”

34 seconds until the T/R could reestablish connections with Free Conference all.com. and the group)

MICHAEL: : This is Michael back again.

Dialogue

Student: I was just saying, it was a timely, wonderful message, an all-encompassing message. Thank you so much.

MICHAEL: : Yes. This evening I just wanted to hit the major points. Mother Spirit and I realize: Because of the wonderful seamless-ness of your consciousness–at its best–it is hard to keep in mind that you yourselves are co-creating everything for yourselves. But this spiritual creativity is what God shares with all personal beings. It is the very marvel of being personal and unique, just like him. So you are very welcome.

Student: Yes – I will work on it.

MICHAEL: : Were there any more questions or comments this evening?…”
