Thought Adjuster: “Chanting, memorized prayers, mantra recitations, none of these practices have any power or effectiveness unless they are supported by faith, by a trust in the forces that control the universe and move through your life to show you the path. For a long time, mortals have sought magic formulas to achieve what they want and satisfy their needs. However, life will soon teach attentive students that they can only reap fruits from the seeds they have planted.
“A religious practice or any ritual can have a socializing effect in the members of a religious group. If after a ritual you feel enlivened and gain the mental disposition to try to be the best you can be, then the ritual is productive, something with real value because it helps you direct your will toward eternal goals. This ritual can be meditation, visualization, chanting, prayer, etc. Each path is unique and the Father is always present in every little effort of a creature to come closer to Him.
“Every human being should strive to have an authentic religious experience in his or her life. True religion is a balm that heals the wounds of life. It is also the inspiration to face new challenges with courage and hope. A true religion produces in the lives of those who practice it the fruits of spirit – peace, love, goodness, compassion, joy, and faith. Those who have a true religious experience in their lives are truly free, independent from the conditions of the world, from the traditions of society, and from group conditioning. If what you practice today is not providing you with these results then it is better to search for alternatives.
“A true religious practice transforms a creature into an increasingly perfected being. Those who live a real religious experience can look back and notice how much they have progressed on their spiritual journey. They are also capable of continuous self-examination and focus on those details that need their attention in order to get closer to an image of perfection they hold in their minds – an image increasingly inspired by the Presence of God within their being.
“A religious practice is always personal and individual. Its benefits are first for the seeker, but the spiritual fruit, resulting from their search, inevitably influence and extend love to all those around the religious person. It is possible to change the world and turn this dark and confused sphere into a paradise of light and life, and the way to do this is for everyone to find their personal path to God and the inspiration to continuously strive to reach perfection.”
