Opening
TOMAS: I am Tomas and it gives me great pleasure to be in your company. Welcome to this forum of communication, this forum which reminds me so much of the agondonter who believes even though he cannot see, for surely you appreciate that even while we are many miles separated materially speaking, we are conscious of the connection we have through the spirit.
This Light Line gives you the sense of connectedness and belonging that allows you to feel at home in the universe, and that you are not alone, even while you tread the path of earthly endeavor, often without knowing who may be watching. We in the more ethereal realm have watched for many millennia as your planet has undergone its cycles of change and growth. I had no idea I would be a part of your “coming out,” but it seems I was in the right place at the right time.
Lesson
That often seems what it appears, that you are simply in the right place at the right time, but you will be, as I was, delighted to find out that there is indeed a conspiracy afoot and it is extensive, long-range, very involved, even in record-keeping. The universe is far more well-organized than you might imagine. We have been able to study your world from the living libraries and find you on the map, as it were, and also identify those entities who have worked with you in one circumstance or another to help you along in your path those most often are midwayers, but oftentimes, too, especially more recently, they may involve other entities who have come to swarm over your growth in hopes of taking part.
The knowing that you are not alone – and this is seen On High by your affirmation of a burning desire to do or be that which you have not yet attained. How many times have you had those moments in your life where you have put your foot down and said, “Enough is enough!” “I need more!” “I want to do that!” “I cannot bear it any longer!” “I’m done with this!” “Bring on the next experience!”) and this sets the universe in motion. This is the clue for us to be about the Father’s business in such a way as to respond to your yearning.
Just as the devoted mother comes running when she hears her child squall, the universe comes to you when they hear your cry when they hear your temper tantrum or your frustration and your commitment to make a change for the better. At this point, all the energy of the universe that you need is able to be focused in and on your decision to advance. And then the fun commences. That is when the unseen world kicks into overdrive to help your determination come to pass in such a way as to contribute to your self-realization.
This occurs when you make foolish decisions as well as wise ones. And so, of course, you want to give some conscious thought to what determination you are making that invites the universe to come to your beck and call. But regardless whether you have been wise in your choice or not, you will gain wisdom from having made the decision, even so. If the choice you have made turns out to be not what you thought it would be, you will have gained that understanding and that expansion of comprehension. If it falls short of your desire, you will nonetheless have gained insight into what you have wrought by your decision, and perhaps from there you can augment, enhance or backtrack. It is the process of making decisions, come what may, which activates all life.
I have been in company where there have been amusing remarks about making decisions, even to flipping a coin, since in many cases it doesn’t seem to matter. But I assure you, the thought process that goes into making your decisions is a part of the process. It is not the same to flip a coin and expect the universe to respond. They will not respond to a coin of the realm. But they will respond to your will, [to] your overt decision to make something happen that will better the circumstances as you see it.
Therefore, make your decisions consciously, willingly, even willfully, for there is no substitute for your will choosing. By choosing, you learn how to choose wisely. There is no shame in making error, for that is how you learn. That is how all children learn, and the wise parent will stand by bravely watching as the child sets out on his way to awareness, even sometimes making mistakes, because in the making of mistakes, the better way can be learned, and there is no experience like experience itself.
You cannot anticipate that someone will always be there to tell you how to go or what to do. Even the Father on many occasions will not interfere with your choices, for those are your choices based on your need to grow. They are like elective classes in higher education. You must have a certain amount of credits. Some require electives. As long as you are making your required credits, you have then the freedom to take elective courses, and those are based on your will and your desire to embellish and enhance your own capacities as you see them.
This is appropriate, as are these decisions. For they better you and they will receive the assistance of the universe helpers. But in the end, it is the human capacity to understand the Father well enough, through having mastered the human will sufficiently to realize the difference and forge ahead with that which is in the best interests of all concerned, that gives rise to the exemplary life such as the one Jesus lived.
You are not asked, however, to be Jesus, but to be yourself, and to express the God of your understanding in and through your own personality. This is the courtship toward the betrothal with your Adjuster. You offer your personality; it offers divinity. And between the two the dance is done, ultimately to whirl you into one spectacular and unique entity taking its place on the ballroom floor of the grand cosmic ballroom.
All this stemming from our being tuned in today to this Light Line device, with many miles between us, anticipating that the spirit will connect with us and render us Home, and where we should be, even as we are millennia away from Paradise. Our faith is strong, our footing is firm, our path is joyous.
In the face of the tremendous possibilities inherent in your consciousness, how may I serve you this evening? How can I augment, if at all, your ascension progress and/or your service fields. Are there questions?
Dialogue
Manu: I have a question.
TOMAS: Very well.
Manu: How soon can children be introduced to the practice of Stillness. Is it ever too early?
TOMAS: Stillness. Ah, yes. As soon as they are capable of sitting still. Indeed, babies are still automatically, when their needs are met, and this is a good time for you to shed your fatherly affection on your infant, just as when your toddler is at peace and you sit quietly together . . . perhaps silently watching the sunset or tossing pebbles in the pond. It is not necessary to relate constantly. There are times when just being together is enough. And this state of being can be so satisfying as to plant the seed in the soul of the child that longs to return to this place of repose and peace and a sense of belonging that comes from having Father watching over, protecting and caring. Stillness begins in these early loving days.
Manu: (Question about the textual reference of allowing people to develop their own religion as compared to having a ready-made religion thrust upon them.)
TOMAS: This is a good and wise question for any parent. It would be my suggestion, Manu, that you not teach your religion to your children but live your religion. It is not necessary to confuse them with cosmology. Looking at the stars at night and discussing the fact of creation can absorb the majesty of the universe and that awesome sense that comes from knowing God, without confounding the child or overwhelming them with intellectual concepts of godhood, deity and the like.
Allow your religion to be pure, your relationship with the Father to be natural, and share your life with your child. This is not teaching them about religion. Teaching your children about a ready-
made religion is introducing them to creeds, tenets, scriptures, behaviors based on theological understandings. This would include guilt, piousness, sacrifice, these many qualities of a religionist’s existence. You need not teach your child those qualities that are not a part of the living God, as you understand Him and Her.
In time, the child will reach a point of wanting to know more than you have answers for. It will want to know: “Why? Why, Daddy? How many leaves are on that tree? Why is the sky blue?” and they will begin their investigation into all that is. Prior to that, you have no need whatsoever to worry them about “god talk.” If and when they ask about these things, tell them it’s your perception, as you have come to know it, so far, for this gives the child the understanding that your religion is a living thing. Not that it is unfulfilled or undeveloped, but that it is ongoing and eternally growing. It is a living thing.
Teach, then, your children about many religions, as they are able to absorb the various evolutionary concepts of God, admiring always those teachings that have kept truth, beauty and goodness alive, commending always the worshipers who have sought to know God in whatever primitive form.
Your child, once it receives the Adjuster, will have a rather close association with God simply because of its childlikeness, and its religion will begin then, no matter what you tell it. It obviously behooves you to enhance your child’s perception of what God is by the nature of your relationship with the child, since for many years your values will represent divine values to your children.
It is from the parent that the child first learns of the caring universe and the loving God. If Mother provides a happy home, the child knows the universe is a friendly place. If Father’s voice is comforting and firm through its own wisdom and authority, the child will know it is secure and cared for.
These are qualities that are good for the sophisticated modern man as well as the elemental and primitive. There is no need to confuse anyone with dogma until the mind awakens to the marvels of mind and how it perceives, and then you can approach it as an intellectual and stimulating study of how humanity has tried to understand who God is, when, in fact, he lives right within you. Perhaps this can be helpful.
Manu: (Expresses appreciation.)
TOMAS: We are grateful for your presence, Manu, and your contribution to the whole, as well.
Marshall: Tomas? Is this Tomas? This is Marshall.
TOMAS: Yes, you are correct. Well, good evening, Marshall. It is good to hear your voice again.
Marshall: I apologize. I just got here! I was hiking in the mountains and time got away from me.
TOMAS: You are not late.
Marshall: Thank you. But I missed the lesson! I have some questions I wanted to ask you. My questions had to do with the power directors and let me read you this, which I found in the text. [Elaboration]
TOMAS: Well, perhaps I must backtrack and say, “Yes, you did miss the lesson!” but you will read it and see how I had been discussing the fact that when you make a decision the universe rallies to contribute its energy to your choice, and certainly, the power directors are a part of the universe that responds to the impulse of life. It would be error of me to define, with specificity, how it is that they may or may not engage themselves in your activities as you become more actualized as a morontia being in the flesh, but certainly you would be correct in assuming the energy of the universe is upholding you, similar to the way the tree of life upheld Adam and Eve.
The augmentation of your standard operating procedures, as far as functioning goes, can be by way of many influences. I have had many long chats with my students about the many altered states of mind and being that impact on your energy levels and the effects. The thing to remember in this context is that any energy coming to you from power directors and the like will be coming from an outside source and you would do well to sustain yourself through your own resources.
That is to say, instead of finding your impetus and upholding externally, rely on your internal energy, which is also spirit, to carry you into these fields of general elation that you perceive as morontial. They will not . . . the power directors will not be depended on to provide that extra boost, but they will certainly provide it as they are instructed, or as they are guided and led to. That will depend on higher authority than I have to offer. Thus, to answer you briefly, yes, but don’t depend on it.
Marshall: [Responds]
TOMAS: Yes, yes it will. The energy will be provided for you if and when you make those choices that hurl you into the future. If the Father has acquiesced to allow you to do something that you choose to do for him, or, in other words, if the Father wants you to do something for him (those are the same thing), He will certainly provide or contribute the wherewithal. Not always will he give you everything you need, but he will certainly avail the resources of the universe to your efforts, and much of the time your effectiveness will depend on how well you manage universe energy yourself.
This is a part of the understanding that God will not do it all for you, if it is not all for Him. I had been discussing earlier about the difference between elective classes and required classes, and much of your experience will be engaged in electives. You may choose to take an elective course, to have an experiential sojourn, believing that this is contributory to the Father’s will and something that he would smile upon. He may not provide you with the impetus and energy that you feel he should, but rather than find he is discouraging you, find that you are able to access the energy you need; otherwise find that it was not as fascinating as you thought it might be.
This is the value of having the opportunity to take many elective classes. But for those classes which are required, you may be assured you will be given what you need to carry through with the assignment.
I must speak broadly because of the many variables. The pint cannot hold a quart, etc.
Marshall: Inherent capacities cannot be exceeded. Thank you, Tomas. I look forward to reading the lesson.
TOMAS: Yes, of course.
Simon: Thank you for your lesson, Tomas.
TOMAS: Simon, how wonderful to feel your presence.
Simon: [Asks for guidance on something.]
TOMAS: It would seem from my perspective that you are trying to establish new priorities, or establish priorities that allow you to specialize more fully and be less scattered in your agenda. This is a common problem, particularly for those of you who are actively involved in life and I’m specifically talking about those of you who are alert and aware and mindful of not only all the adventures that are possible but all of the potential responsibilities that life provides.
This does indeed require some shuffling of priorities in the mind to find a balance and this needs to be done frequently, not just at cyclic points but seasonally, even daily, in order for you to remain true to yourself, your obligations and your aspirations, not to exclude your many relations. Put your priorities on paper and recognize that your capacities can only handle certain things before they impinge upon other duties that need attention as well. You cannot do everything. And when you put your spiritual life first, discern, “what does this mean?”
At what point are you in your spiritual life? There are phases, stages, psychic circles that the mortal goes through, that we all go through, and the spirit will counsel you and say, “this is what we were doing; this is where we were going; this is what we have completed; this is where we will focus.” This is to say, if you have a relationship with your Adjuster, consult with your Adjuster as to what He needs from you right now. What He would give to you right now. What He would have you do for your experiential learning.
This is why I am amused at this forum we are involved in this evening. We know each other is present even though we cannot see each other. Close your eyes and we are all in the dark. But we know that we are connected. We are spirit bound. Likewise, if you extend your consciousness, you can see that the project is in command, underway. It will come to pass, fear not. Much of being an agondonter is trusting that things are taking place because you cannot see. It is not the same as assuming. It is not presuming on God. It is being confident that these efforts are sought by many and are upheld by those who are able to add their energy and resources to its coming about.
This is again a reflection of the lesson that if a decision is made, the universe will flock to assist in the work at hand. What is the goal here? What is the priority? If the priority and the goal is truly divine, then it will come to pass. If it is less than divine, there may be obstacles to overcome, but therein will be lessons learned. And through it all, there is the family of God that thrives on these kinds of opportunities and challenges that truly do make history, that you will look back on in years to come and remind yourself, “oh, me of little faith.”
Simon: [Comment]
TOMAS: Yes, indeed.
Simon: [Comment]
TOMAS: We do, indeed. Thank you.
Marshall: Tomas?
TOMAS: Hello?
Marshall: Perhaps I could talk to you off-line sometime.
TOMAS: Certainly. Yes, it would be okay. You would like to have a private sitting?
Marshall: That would be great. Could we do that on the telephone?
TOMAS: Yes, I am sure we could. We are quite close, even over the miles, given our immediate faith. I sense your vibrancy and ask that you get with Gerdean to find a mutual time compatible to your both.
Marshall: I’ll do that, Tomas. Thanks.
TOMAS: You are very gracious. That will not get you an A, however.
Marshall: [Flustered, objecting.]
TOMAS: I am smiling.
Marshall: [Appeased]
TOMAS: Are there other questions this evening? From anyone. Or comments?
Marshall: [Something else]
TOMAS: Yes, we can discuss that; however, it is very apparent that you are revitalized by the spirit and the new plateau you have attained. It is obviously a new psychic circle celebration.
Marshall: [Exclamation] It is, isn’t it!
TOMAS: Congratulations.
Marshall: You can see that?
TOMAS: This is our great joy to see you students experiencing for yourselves, the glory that is Our Fathers. You as his children, known to him personally, have the right to feel the glow of this divine love radiating in and through you as it is a part of you. This is your divine inheritance.
Marshall: Well, it feels great. I’ve never felt so wonderful.
TOMAS: Do. Be of good cheer. Your work is at hand and you know we are succeeding. It may not appear so on certain wavelengths, but the broadcasts from Havona have certainly been reassuring. . . . .
Marshall: [reference to Monjoronson]
TOMAS: I was not specifically making reference to Monjoronson’s mission here, no. I was giving Father credit specifically, but Monjoronson is certainly a part of that overflowing that is being poured out upon us. There is time, yet, to prepare for Monjoronson, but it is our privilege and pleasure to anticipate that which we might do in advance of his arrival in order to augment his efforts, understanding in that you will have, we will have augmented our own reality and that which we are creating in anticipation of the great one and those who attend him.
Let us not overlook the possibility, in anticipating the Magisterial Son, let us not overlook the possibility of Machiventa’s material re-visitation as well as Adam and Eve, who still yearn to make up for their default, and the many others who have been loyal to this world and struggled in the face of its hardships. This planet is very blessed, even though there are days it does not appear to be. Assuredly, all eyes are upon it.
Marshall: It’s an exciting time to be a son of God on Urantia.
Closing
TOMAS: Yes, it is. Very well. All of you, my bright students and amiable associates in kingdom building, I embrace you and smile upon you. You are indeed a glorious lot of Sons of God. I look forward to our future together, advancing into infinity, arm in arm, comrades, brothers. Amen. Farewell.
