JL: This year–twenty-twenty–I hope gives us some good vision, both inward and outward.
Nebadonia: Good evening, this is Mother Spirit, and I’ll second your notion about good vision. That is what Michael and I definitely wish all of our children to keep striving for. It’s both that good vision out there into this wonderful world of yours, and now the whole universe opening to you. Then there’s your inner vision, your insight by staying present, staying here-and-now. Your insight helps you do that. Also this is what your foresight is predicated on. Your ability to anticipate the future depends so much on where you are in time right now, so keeping up with yourself is one of your great challenges.
It’s why the meditation we suggest is one of being open to whatever wants to come up. Here you will be tapping into your total self, which includes the presence of Michael, and myself, and our Father. Just say to us, “OK, Folks–dear spiritual friends–closest to me always,”–for our Father is both co-sponsor and keeper of your soul– “What have you got for me–this time?”
(It’s “this time”—forever)
For it is “this time” over and over again–forever. It is always “this time,” always somewhat unique as our Father set up time and space, and he doesn’t have to repeat himself. Of course he does in what you call Natural Law, which is his law, his way of repeating himself in physical and material realms. But in the spiritual realm–which is another word for unceasing creativity—there is something forever new.
His creativity, that he shares with you, is what makes every moment in time an existential moment, something unique, something that has never happened before. Yet true enough, it does relate to predicates. This moment always relates to what has come up to it, but there is also something new.
This new thing in time is in large part you, my children. It is how you are handling your situation, both the one you find yourself in, and the one that you are to yourself–your own self-situation of body, mind, spirit, and soul. You are something new, something that never happened before. This can be exciting, although there is that Chinese proverb: “May you not be cursed to live in exciting times.” Though that is not exactly cynical. That is more ironic, I would say. There is always something exciting happening just in the shear amount of something new, something that has never happened before.
(Mental energy)
This is a challenge. It is a challenge not to get cynical, or jaded, or even exhausted. How do you keep up your energy to face each bright new happening, day in and day out–forever? Where does that energy come from? How do you tap into it, beside the physical part of a good diet, good rest, and exercise–all that sort of thing. How do you stay mentally energized?
This can come from the observation, then the welcoming and cheering on this new thing, this new moment. You pay attention, and you welcome it. This is where the energy comes from. There is your own creative spirit that wants to rise to the occasion and embrace your purpose for living–this experience of yours. God created you, and this whole universe of trillions of trillions of other personal beings, to have their living experience that adds to him, for he is part of it all, especially for your order of personal beings. He is the co-author of your soul, keeping it sacrosanct for you. This is where your energy comes from, my dear ones, in the spiritual sense. Paying attention literally requires and enables you to be creative to keep up with this big happening you are involved in, and part of.
As you know, this physical part of you, this living body of yours, changes. It has its own laws, its own organic code that it follows. How do you tune in to that, especially when things go wrong, when you are injured or in pain? How do you remain open-minded towards the sometimes awful things that can happen to you physically, yet keep present, not be discouraged or depressed?
You keep approaching yourself with curiosity, not assuming you are going to be this way or that the next moment. You try things; you experiment, keeping in mind what you are trying to do. What has worked and what hasn’t worked in your diet, in your exercise, in your relating to this marvelous, marvelous physical aspect of yourselves that even the angels treasure about you. They appreciate you for what sets you unique among all the orders of personal beings–this physical-ness of yours.
(Life–and what happens next)
So keep in mind too, the living aspect of your body is itself transcendent. What it is to be alive? What does it mean to already have the potential for eternal life? Again, “life” is one of those magical words that cannot in any way be adequately conveyed. It waits the next new moment to see what happens.
This is my message this evening, my dear ones. Treasure and allow yourself to be humbled by this rather magical, ungraspable gift that has been given you. Then realize on the deepest level: you are it. You are life. You are not only the reason and the purpose, but the fulfillment, moment by moment, of this aspect of God.
This humility gives you an appreciation of being surrounded by life, not only your dearest family and friends, but your whole world of people, a whole universe of people who will be your future companions. They are what Michael and I too treasure so much and are humbled by, even with our billions of years of existence, and all our power, all our creativity.
(Michael’s human life—and yours)
Michael has offered so many times what it was for him to have a human life just like yours. It was a requirement for him by his Father, but no less–no less whatsoever– as he has taught you–is your own life for you, given to you by our Father. It’s this personality of yours, this unique being that you are. This is your treasure. This is your eternal potential that you have even now.
So, my dear ones, truly believe that Michael and I treasure and honor you, especially for the trials you go through, the pain you know. But then too there’s the joy, all the way to ecstasy, the being out-of-yourself, especially with us. We do love it when you say hello from time to time, and realize that we are part of you. Now if you have any questions or comments for me this evening, let’s do those.
Student 1. Hi, Mother Spirit, I’m ….. from Canada. I have a question. I’ve been reading the Urantia Book for seven or eight months–almost completely–and marvel by everything almost every single day. But I struggle with bringing it inside. I’m not sure why, but I cannot bring it inside me to feel it. I have had many what I would call spiritual experiences, and I’m very happy to say this book enhances my belief in the spiritual universe, but bringing it inside is my challenge.
(Feeling the Urantia Book)
Nebadonia. Well, my son, something Michael and I have taught on a lot of times is that you might be doing the most perfect thing. Give it time. It doesn’t really require any suspension of belief. It just requires a suspension of disbelief. Entertain it; be delighted by it. Parts of the Urantia Book can bring out the most amazing laughter, so be amazed that such a thing does exist–right out of nowhere, you might say. Look at the list of chapters and all the different kinds of extra-human personal beings who were the authors of them. Simply take it in. It is a big thing, like an enormous Mount Everest within your intellectual realm.
The very fact that you are curious about a possible internalization means the book has definitely peaked your curiosity, and teased you a bit. We’ve often said that, in one way and another, it’s an enormous tease. Where did it come from? Why now? Of course it has its own physical history of the spiritual beings who got together to transmit and create it, and the spiritual folks who received and published it.
I do gather, my son, that you honor it. So give yourself time to digest the content and absorb it because it is like swallowing a mountain. You have all the rest of your life, and beyond too, that will be reflected by it. Give it time. I think you will be surprised by how much you have eternalized it already. You use it to understand this world you are in, and this life you have.
Student 1. Thank you. I thank you for that. It is wonderful, and I appreciate that. I appreciate your humor too. The mountain of the book is very large to take in, and I’m very honored by the chance to even open the pages. It is a beautiful, beautiful thing, and every day I am amazed. Thank you.
Nebadonia. You are welcome, my son. It even has its own language with maybe a few thousand novel concepts in it–even though it right-up-front admits it uses hundreds of concepts that, historically, people have already come up with. It delightfully plagiarizes a lot of notions the people of your world have already captured and expressed. But there are all those hundreds if not thousands of new concepts, and the way they are all tied together. We are delighted that you are delighted. Enjoy!–and be in my love.

Student 2. Mother, I would like to say something to my brother from Canada. When I read the Urantia Book it struck me as a historical document, and a philosophical document, and a religious document. But overall I see it as an instruction manual. It is not until you start doing it that you will understand it. For example: Michael’s gospel of treating people like you would like to be treated. When you start doing that you will definitely get a response.
Student 1.Thank you. I appreciate that. I hear you: it is true. It has changed me. There is no question about it. There is no turning back now.
Nebadonia. Just stay with it. It is a challenge to take on its special language and all those thousands of new concepts. Many folks take years to get through it, yet others just kind-of push through, even though, we might say, some of its sentences are like wading through thick grease up to your waist. Whatever: your own experience of it is also unique to you.
Student 3. My brother and his wife have been in another religion for 48 years now. He called me the other day and, knowing I’ve been reading the Urantia Book for twenty-five years, asked me, “What does your Urantia community think about what is going on with the planet, and all of that?” I said it’s just a book. For me personally, I need to study with someone else. All different religions read it because it is not a religion in itself, nor a cult. It’s a book full of knowledge. I find for myself it’s easier to read with someone.
(God’s chief attribute—sharing)
Nebadonia. My dear, here you are tapping into one of God’s chief attributes, and that is, the whole notion of sharing. I mean, this is why there is a universe. It is God’s nature to share as much of himself as he can, with as many as he can. This is why the universe is expanding, especially in the number of new personal beings coming into existence.
The fulfillment of sharing something is like one-and-one-makes-three. You have each one of you, and you can reflect back and forth, each to the other. Then have this new third thing, shared between you, that you know because of each other. So, my dear, you are onto something very precious there.
Student 3. Well: also, I can read the same paper year after year and get something new every time I read it.
Nebadonia. Right. That is partly because you too are new every time you read it.
Student 3. Right, that is the truth.
Nebadonia. It’s like wandering the same old path through the woods, or even walking down some familiar street in a huge city. You notice not only how the seasons come and go, but even day-by-day how things change. It’s what I talked about this evening, that aspect of reality that is not repeating itself.
(Strong spiritual legs)
Yes, there are many folks who are delighted to live at this time and have that book. They can appreciate how many folks in the past–whether they were scientists, or religionists, or just regular old folks—who would have loved to have had that book in their lives. Even with all the challenges it imposes, think of the kind of strong legs it gives you, climbing that spiritual mountain.
Student 1. I have another question, if I may. For me the book is astounding, amazing, and all-encompassing. As our brother said, it is an instruction book. It is many, many things, and more. It is re-writing my entire concept of the universe, which is truly refreshing.
I find though–like in this group who are talking here–many of us have stumbled into spirituality in one way or another. Maybe it was a strange experience, but something spiritual happened, as I have had. But I find–speaking to people who have not had a profound spiritual experience, or a deep need for spirituality–the availability of this type of information doesn’t resound with them. It doesn’t resonate with them.
Can you speak to that? Because I want to tell everybody about this, and I practically do. But I find that people who have not had a spiritual experience inside don’t resonate with new information such as the Urantia Book. This is not new but… Can you speak to that?
(The Big Tease)
Nebadonia. Yes, my son. This is why Michael and I, a number of times, have framed it as the Big Tease. Have them open up the Table of Contents or, first of all, understand the basic four sections of the book. In the first section are sixty pages on the nature of God, which might appeal to somebody, but might turn off someone else because they can’t be proven. If you have some very scientifically-minded folks, direct them to the second section which talks about how planets are formed; or that the physical universe is constantly being created, not from some Big Bang only fifteen to eighteen billion years ago, but that the physical universe is hundreds of billions of years old and is constantly being created and expanded by spiritual beings.
For just the physical-ness of reality, this part of the Urantia Book states that, as you go into the sun, your own closest star, you recapitulate the Table of Elements. There are spherical layers in there of calcium, one of silicon, one of iron. This is something that was only very recently postulated by your nuclear physicists. Yet even now they don’t see quite the enormous temperatures in, or the total recapitulation of the elements clear to the center of the sun.
The third section is the geological, then biological, then human evolution/history of your world over billions of years. So different things appeal to different people. The fourth book is, by contrast, a narrative. It is a detailed narrative of the life of Michael, as Jesus, that reads like the Greatest Story Ever Told.
(Introducing the UB)
Like I said, this is the Big Tease. In introducing the book to someone, you can intuit “where they are coming from”–as you say–and direct them to that section. If nothing else, have them read the sixty-page Table of Contents and marvel at what it suggests, that the Urantia Book has so many facets to it. Then perhaps the biggest tease of all is the way all these human disciplines—history, geology, science, spirituality, biology, the evolution of the family and government–on and on—all by extra-human authors–are all tied together. Challenge them to find a single inconsistency within those thousands of pages.
Student 1. Thank you. That is a great plan. I too read the book from back to front starting with the life of Jesus, then the history of the planet. Now I’m working my way through the table of contents. You are right. Even on these conference calls and the people you hear on the phone, everybody is remarkably consistent and not out of line with the teaching. It is actually a blessing for me to hear these things when the world is in such a time of change. We’re trying to decide where to go, and it is probably going to be among the people who are saying what they are saying and reading what they are reading. Thank you for that advice. I will apply that. It is a great technique.
Nebadonia. Right. Well, it’s the second section on our Local Universe here that has so much pure chemistry and physics, that is the tipping point for some folks. They can just marvel at that, alongside those sixty pages on the nature of God. It’s the idea of why we are all here tonight–especially Michael and myself–and that is: to share. We share these marvels of God’s reality with each other. So thank you, my son. Be in my love.

Nebadonia. Well, my dears, if there are no more questions or comments, let me say how delighted I am we got on the subject of our beloved Urantia Book. It is definitely Michael’s and mine, as much as it is yours. We did have a bit of a hand in rounding up the celestial beings who were the authors of it, the different kinds of beings who got together and wanted to be part of this planetary revelation.
(The request for a Fifth Epical Revelation)
Do you know the request for it came many hundreds of years ago during what you call your Renaissance? From the spiritual beings on the planet, their appeal went all the way up to the Ancients of Days to decide: yes, your planet was ready for this Fifth Epical Revelation. This was the fifth time the spiritual community actually put their hands in your human situation and came up with this contribution to the natural spiritual evolution on your world.
These were the different ways of first, a Planetary Prince, then Adam and Eve, then a Melchizedek teacher, then Michael himself as Jesus. Now there’s this fifth revelation where the spiritual community said, “How about this gift? Maybe you could use it right at this time for your planetary spiritual development.” Because it outlines so wonderfully both the spiritual and the physical history of your world; plus it gives you all those enticing hints of what is to come, moving on towards the epoch of Light and Life.
So, my dears, I appreciate so much that you do enjoy this gift from above.
Student 4. Mother?
Nebadonia. Yes?
Student 4. May I ask? You say it was requested around the time of the Renaissance. Who requested it?
Nebadonia. Keep in mind, my son, there is an enormous spiritual community here on your world and they simply know the general history of planetary spiritual evolution. They are also very cognizant of, and appreciative of how your world deviated from this normal spiritual evolution. It’s what the Lucifer Rebellion has meant to your world through the others who joined the rebellion. So you might say they were spiritually anxious for this kind of revelation to come about and tie things together for you–to present a spiritual history of not only your planet, but of your whole Local System and its rebellion.
Student 4. This Spiritual community–the Spiritual community that you are speaking of, that requested it, are these celestials still here?
Nebadonia. Oh, yes!
Student 4. Got it. OK.
(Living Jesus’ life simultaneously)
Nebadonia. Don’t forget, my son, it is also because of the life of Jesus here. Because Michael chose your world–among nearly four million evolutionary worlds–to have his singular human life here, as Jesus, that this planet has always had a great attraction for our whole Local Universe. Don’t forget too, my son, that Michael’s life was simultaneously experienced by the spiritual beings on the higher spiritual worlds of our Local Universe through Universal Reflectivity. This was the single human life of their beloved Creator Son. Even Michael himself had a period of being a somewhat ordinary human before he became aware of not only who, but What he was. He himself enjoyed a regular human life, though of course, on another level, his life was always somewhat especially unique.
But this was the extent of the request, you might say. There is even an Archangel circuit on your world, just because Michael’s being here. Your world is unique among all others in our whole Local Universe, and it was time for you to get kind-of an outline of that.
Student 4. Yes. Wonderful. Thank you. It is fascinating.
Nebadonia. One thing that comes up from time to time is: Why was the Urantia Book made so complex? Why does it have its own language? Why does it get into hundreds of pages of things that are purely spiritual and have no way of being proven one way or another? Why wasn’t it made so much simpler so more folks could tune in to it without being immediately overwhelmed and giving up on it? These too were enormous decisions being made page by page: What to reveal? Of course from our standpoint it is just the barest outline. But stay curious. You in your own personal life are recapitulating a desire to know what it is all about.
Student 4. Yes, Thank you.
Student 1. Mother, I can’t thank you enough for the patience that you have with this civilization as we have it. I appreciate that we are a very slow and thick bunch. I totally appreciate everything you say.
(Patience—its uses and replacement)
Nebadonia. Well, my son, we are with you moment to moment. A number of lessons ago Michael gave you the insight that patience is just a great, and sometimes necessary link between inattention and paying attention. When you really pay attention you can discard patience and just be in awe of so much that is happening so fast all around you. You don’t quite need patience in waiting for something desired to happen.
Patience is replaced with vision, the moment-by-moment awareness of all that is happening. Certainly patience is useful up to that moment, and often brings you to there. So in that sense, Michael and I don’t have to be patient with you. We are actually riding with you moment by moment. But we thank you for your love.
We would even extend this truth to our Father. God doesn’t need to be patient with us. He is riding along with us moment by moment and, in his own way, delightfully amazed with what his creatures are coming up with. You and Michael and I do have a true freedom. Our futures do follow God’s parameters, but within his parameters are free choices. They are real, and can be consciously realized by you. So it is his delight to let you be, let you make those choices that surprise even him.

Well, my dears, the big clock on the wall is saying it’s time to go. I want to thank you, especially for your human patience. Sometimes your abiding by Michael’s, and my, and God’s creation seems to unfold a little too slowly. But patience is a wonderful thing to use with each other, to give each other time. So give each other freedom and choice. Let your youngsters and your friends have the chance to realize their own lives in their own time.
