Planetary consciousness and planetary management

Machiventa: Good morning. This is Machiventa Melchizedek. It’s a pleasure to be here with you. Thank you for your attendance. Today, I’m going to give you another lesson in planetary management as it concerns planetary consciousness—the consciousness of humanity. You have heard many people say that the times are rising in consciousness, or a group is rising in consciousness, and that people are at oneness involved in that.

As a planetary manager, I want to give you a view of the last quarter million years of this planet. Approximately 200,000 years ago there was the coincidence of the quarantine and also the definite appearance of the Homo sapiens species. As far as you’re concerned, this coincidence is unrelated to you. Now from a planetary manager’s perspective, he would have begun his work on the planet long before 200,000 years ago. And the planetary manager would remain in that position for many hundreds of thousands of years. However, the quarantine left this planet’s population in an anomaly. Yes, it is God invested, and yes, it has gone through the quarantine, and this has had a powerful effect upon the consciousness of humanity.

If you take a look at the two phases of this planet’s progress, phase one would be the phase of separation that we’ve spoken about before. Let us call this separation the zeitgeist of phase one. We’ll talk about the zeitgeist of phase two in a few minutes. The intention of both of these phases and the consciousness thereof is to raise the capability of humanity as a physical race to sustain itself indefinitely in time, physically and materially. This is associated with the four primary values of your species: of life, equality, growth, and improvement of the quality of life. These are the primary or primal urges of your species.

From separation to integration

The great difficulty with the duration of phase one—separation—is due in part to the quarantine. Your race is emotionally and spiritually stunted as a consciousness. The zeitgeist of separation is so deeply embedded in your specie’s genome that it is very difficult for individuals and populations to think of working together even within the same country, same nation, same society, even within the same races, genders, and so on.

The change from phase one to phase two has been due primarily to the fact that the world population now occupies all of the planet, and separation no longer serves a purpose to improve the survivability and sustainability of the race of humanity. There is interference going on from humanity itself as it strives to survive the difficulties of living on a fully inhabited planet. The material resources of the planet are limited, and therefore the expansion of the numbers of world population, in fact, decreases the capability of all individuals and nations to have access to those mineral resources that assist the development of civilization. As civilization is the organizational matrix that holds your societies together, separation must be phased-out and the zeitgeist of integrations phased-in. This is causing a great dissonance—a disquieting disharmony in the consciousness of humanity. This era, as we’ve said, is an era of a transition of epic and profound proportions, particularly for this planet at this time. Few other planets have gone through such an epic and profound transition as is occurring here.

You feel this. Groups of you feel this. You feel a disquieting disharmony as though you were hearing a choir of individuals with several singers singing off key. It jangles your “nerves”, and it jangles the psyche—the collective consciousness of humanity—such that there is great frustration, concern, fear, and so on among humanity. So, when you cast your eyes and your ears to the mass media of the world (and you have many news services that cover the whole world) you are able to assess what is going on, and you see and feel a world in immense distress, and this is true. Now the absence of a dominant personality as a planetary manager over the course of 200,000 years of the existence of humanity has had a profoundly disabling effect upon humanity itself, its consciousness, and its future.

I, as your planetary manager, certainly appreciate the time that I previously spent here during my “prior” incarnation. Put “prior” in quotes as I am not incarnate right now, but definitely present here with you. This has given me an advantage of having the prior experience of living with you, among you, and with the visitation of many tribes and families of other ethnic groups who came to visit during the time that I was here.

We certainly have our work cut out for us, dear friends, as this raising of consciousness will require everyone to participate, to not only heal your world, but to transform it so that it not only can exist into an indefinite future, but that it becomes self-sustaining. The major factor that is missing is that there is not an awareness of humanity of its own existence as a social organism that has consciousness and that now lacks self-monitoring, self-appraisal, and self-awareness of itself as it traverses bump by bump through the years and decades. Other advanced worlds have civilizations that are self-monitoring, and self-adaptive, not corrective but self-adaptive, as they are aware of the social changes as they occur on their planets and are able to adjust their organizational matrix so that it adapts to those changes. If you appraise Urantia’s civilization and humanity, you are aware then how unaware that your civilization is of itself and of its actual need to take efforts to survive into the future.

The pandemic should have caused the greatest percentage of the human population on the planet to question whether their civilization will survive, but this appraisal has not occurred. The pandemic in the personal daily lives—the minutiae of living—on your planet particularly for all nations, all societies—is such that people have been too preoccupied to think of the larger scale of what is occurring. As the cataclysms ratchet up in intensity (which is a slow process and may take years to accomplish) humanity will become, must become, more and more self-aware that its very existence is in question. As you and I know, at that time your world, your civilization, and humanity will be well past the tipping point of making a decision and taking action to change the outcomes. This is another reason for the Correcting Time, the Teaching Mission, and the Magisterial Mission. We are in need of advanced thinkers who are even able to share their thoughts in the thoughtful forums on your world whether these are TED talks, podcasts, or any of the other media methods for sharing group thought or for informing groups with new thinking.

Let us now switch to phase two and the zeitgeist of integration. As you can see from this description today and prior descriptions of the era of separation, in phase one of separation, integration is anathema. It is reviled against. It’s reviled by groups that are xenophobic, separation from other groups, other races, other genders, and so on. Yet it is here that our greatest work is before us. And that is to share with you the longitudinal work of a permanent planetary manager. The work of a permanent planetary manager is to move your civilization from separation to integration—into oneness—and as you have learned from The Urantia Book. This project of oneness is what is projected for every intelligent, sentient, occupied planet that is Father-based, Spirit-based, or Son-based, and for the arrival of the Days of Light and Life. Here on this planet, it is Father-based with the presence of God being embedded in each individual.

Social integration and the state of the social and physical sciences

Even among you, there are individuals who say no, not one language; no; not one banking system; no; not one economy; and no, no, no, no, no, no; not one government. Not one form of governance. And so, there continues to be even among our friendly groups as yourself, individuals who say “No, we can do this a lot better by ourselves.” What is missing from this phase on this planet are the technologies, the techniques, and processes of social integration. If you compare the social sciences to the physical sciences, you will find that the mechanical, physical sciences are centuries ahead of the social sciences. The social sciences are self-limiting as they exist now.

The physical sciences—hard sciences as you’d say: mathematics, physics, chemistry, astrophysics, nuclear physics, and all the rest of the hard sciences—rely upon a common language with common truths, common principles, corollaries, and axioms that everyone basically agrees upon. Yes, there are differences between Mr. Einstein’s physics and those of quantum physics originated by Dr. Planck; nonetheless, everyone agrees on the mathematics of how planets revolve around suns and so on. For the social sciences, however, there is, hmmmm, the comparison that I would give, which will rankle many nerves, is that of witch doctors as opposed to your most devoted adherents to God. Social sciences now revere their ignorance and use their ignorance as cause for debating among themselves. Anyone who has ever done any research into the theories of human motivation and ethical theories will find that there are dozens for each of these fields that no one has agreed upon the basic truths, the basic values that drive human beings to do what they do. This is why Avahlah and others have been so diligent and so persevering in their elucidation of human values which stem from the gene-bound urges that motivate individuals to act and make decisions in particular ways and take actions.

We are appealing to those thinkers, young and old of the social sciences, who are open minded. We know many thousands of young social scientists who are eager to embrace new ways of viewing and new ways of developing workable theories for human behavior and human decision making—particularly for morality and ethics. Many of you read Google News which cites many sources of its articles, and repeatedly there is more and more concern for the ethics of artificial intelligence, the ethics of negotiation, the ethics of industry, and the morality of them all. We are doing what we can on this side to influence those minds that are open to the possibility of a more exacting, more demanding set of theories for the social sciences. You who are from academia, who have taught in universities, high schools, and so on have an opportunity to meet with individuals over coffee or tea and say: “Have you ever thought of…. What would it be like…?” You know, to pose those open-ended, intuitive questions that lead to intuitive answers. You see, we cannot do this alone. This is a co-creative effort. You may say: “Well, Machiventa, you’re preaching to the choir.” That’s true, I am, and I’ll continue to do so. I am begging you, upon your altruism, to reach out on behalf of humanity of the future—those generations which you will be absent from but which you will have an immense influence upon today. Thank you for your singing with me, choir. I appreciate your presence and willingness to hear me out on this topic. Thank you.

Stéphane: Good morning, Machiventa. How are you on this beautiful day?

MM: Wonderful. Again, I repeat to you I did not have a cold or the flu yesterday, I don’t have it today, and I’m very pleased about that. I witness the inconvenience of such maladies among my human friends, and I am pleased to not have any colds. Thank you for asking.

We appeal to the open minded—reach out

Stéphane: Well, it’s summertime here in the north hemisphere, and yes, I think we are enjoying this time of health and happiness, hopefully. But thank you for your introductory statement. I really appreciate your detailing the phases of transition we are going through right now. I tell you; it doesn’t feel like integration is arriving, but I believe your words. What I want to do is relate this thinking to something I’ve come across lately. That is that somebody was reflecting on the mentality of people 40 years ago today, and they say 40 years ago people talked about obligations and responsibilities of doing their work and accomplishing their lifetime work. And it seems like today, there’s been a huge shift to people talking about rights, privileges, and entitlements more so than obligations and responsibilities. Is this related to the Correcting Time and Teaching Mission? Is this related to the transition to phase two—integration?

MM: Yes, you’re exactly right. This is one of those phases of transition between the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of former generations to the me-ism of today and the necessity of making a transition to the obligations of future generations. This is a mode of thinking, a value system, a norm that has not become widespread or known. We are pleased to hear that you were privy to such a conversation, whether it was in an article or whether it was between another person or persons or from your own insights. This is a definite part of the transition. I give a refrain from prior sessions where this change of consciousness began in the 1950’s and was manifest in the 60’s and 70’s, then acquiesced in the 80’s and 90’s, and here we are in the beginning of the third millennium with humanity dithering about and most power seekers striving to kill off everybody else. Thank you.

Stéphane: Right. So, this idea of having rights and privileges, which today seems to cause a lot of chaos, is that required for the preservation of the planet and for humanity to take responsibility for the preservation of our race?

MM: Correct. Additionally, your societies, your groups, and individuals have not come to understand the rights and responsibilities of working together, of being integrated and still having rights and obligations and privileges, yet having a working, functional altruism to future generations. This is something that your thinking-public needs to consider. Thank you.

Stéphane: Thank you very much. I will hold for now and leave the floor to others and will come back later with more questions. Thank you.

MM: I was halting in my answer towards the end of my last answer because there is so much more to be said about this. And the frustration of those people who are forward thinkers, futurists, and altruistic, amateur sociologists is a part of this transition—that they see what needs to be done, but don’t know how they can overcome these staid and institutionalized ways of thinking. Thank you.

Juan: Hello, Machiventa. How are you? Thank you for sharing all you know.

MM: Buenos dias.

Sharing our knowledge

Juan: How are you? I have heard your statement. I think that you give us really good and useful knowledge. I have two questions. The first one is: how can we or what opportunities do we have for taking this knowledge of the Teaching and Magisterial Missions to high level academia? Is it now sharing our knowledge in our universities and classroom, or must we point to making papers and waiting on your ______. That’s the first question, thank you.

MM: Okay, let me work on your first question. When you enter into university, you take basic courses, and we as your mentors—your academic mentors and mentors of life and living—urge you to sign up or to join advanced thinking groups. It may be a free, open seminar with some professor who likes to think and talk about different concepts as a means to improve society and even their professional area of study. You who are privileged to hear these messages and learn from what the celestials are teaching you have a tremendous database for influencing those thinking groups. There are groups within a university—staff, students, associations, and so on—who would have an interest in debate and discussion—an open forum for presenting new ideas. This is one important avenue that you can provide.

As far as writing advanced papers is concerned, you would need to talk this over with your professor, your teacher, or instructor so that the paper you submit would be accepted for grading and for their reading. We would not want you to enter into an advanced thinking paper and submit it and then the teacher would say: “Oh, this does not meet the requirements of my assignment and so you’ll need to do it over or receive a failing grade for this paper. That would not work for us and would not work for you. So, there are forums in which advanced thinking can take place. You, if you are a sociology student or in one of the social sciences, would want to discover an informal group of those students and instructors or professors who would be open to initiating a discussion group of advanced thinking and advanced concepts. These are two methods in which you can address your question. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Latin American opportunities to promote global union

Juan: Yes, that’s a very clarifying answer. And the other question that I have is, in the new era of cooperation and union that we are having here in Urantia, what opportunities do we have specifically in Latin America with the new government for looking for global union and growing in that way. Thank you.

MM: Excellent, thank you. Yes, you can be of influence in those groups as new governments are formed. I would begin my statement with a caution, and that is that there are some political organizers who have their own agenda and want to enforce that agenda and see it established firmly. There are other forums that are open to receiving new insights. We believe you would have a great advantage by proposing local community design teams to find social solutions and political solutions. The design team is capable of engaging political problems, problems of governance, problems of democratic process, and also those problems of a social nature. We advise you very clearly not to confuse or to mix those two topical areas. Doing so would politicize your work for social progress, and it would be taken over by those dominant, political figures who would see this as something they can use for themselves. Our interest, Juan, is that this democratic process be established as a permanent, local community process for citizen input to the processes of governance. I state this clearly and very deliberately because this is part of our agenda. Democracy is the foremost political process capable of engaging and adapting human urges, motivation, and values, for the good of all concerned, for sustaining the lives of individuals as they grow, and for the establishment of equality, growth, and improvement of the quality of life.

The social institution of motherhood

One of the new facets that you will discover in Latin America is one of your oldest social institutions, and that is motherhood. Women must become more and more involved in the processes of governance than men. Men, as you know, have a penchant or desire to acquire power. Even ordinary men do that. And it’s not only typical of Latin American males, but also of North American males as well and males in other parts of the world. The subservience of women is immoral, it is unethical, and it is one of the last bastions of male domination and inequality. It is something that must be changed simply because the mothering, nurturing spirit and caring and altruism of women as mothers are several of the particular traits and characteristics that are necessary for a sustainable democracy to last through the centuries. Therefore, your facilitators of these local design teams must be men with great heart, altruism, and sense of equality, or women who have the same traits and quality of equal treatment and fair treatment and equality. I make this point very clear as I do not want you to miss the importance of this major political influence upon global democratic movements. I thank you for your question and your concern. If you have further questions later in this session, or in our future sessions, please bring them to my attention. Thank you.

Juan: Thank you, Machiventa for your, again, clarifying answer. I hope that this statement helped us not only not in Latin America but also in other areas for resolving these social _____ that we have. Thank you.

Perpetuating harmful intergenerational patterns of behavior

JT: I have a topic I’d like you to address Machiventa. My daughter’s family seems to be falling apart. Lots of rancor, lots of very vocal arguments. They have a two-year-old and a four-year-old (almost five-year-old) daughters. Why is it that we find relationships so hard? And what can I keep in mind as I try to help them grow beyond this. I guess it’s part of the separation that you argue with other people.

MM: This is Machiventa. Thank you for your question. It is earnest, and it is sincere. It is one that is on the lips and minds of billions of people on your world.

Thinking about prioritizing the future

What these two are missing is their responsibility to the formation of the children as they will grow into adults in the years to come. These two parents are teaching their children that the way of family is verbal abuse, verbal violence, emotional upheavals, tantrum making, and so on. In the developed and mature couple relationship, yes, the parents may have differences, even vast differences of opinions. Yet, their major concern is that they are parents, and that they are totally responsible for the formation of the adults that their children will become. Now, do these parents really want to see their children growing up to have such a dysfunctional, verbally violent, and emotionally violent adulthood as they have themselves? Is this what they want to portray for their children? And thinking ahead to their grandchildren, this should be the interest of those two parents that, in fact, by their behavior they are forming the family dynamics of their grandchildren.

Duties and obligations as parents are paramount

I am hoping that this is a startling presentation to them, that they are forming the psyche and, in fact, the social, mental, and emotional health of their children and their grandchildren. The behavior of parents is transcendent in many ways. It becomes multi-generational, and the dysfunction that they are victims to in their own lives, as parents of these two young children, will be carried on into the future. We could not think of more despicable reasons for having children than to be so narcissistic, so self-indulgent, and self-entitled as parents to wreak this behavior upon the lives of these little ones. This is reprehensible. Their duties and obligations as parents far outweigh their differences between themselves, and this is where many couples are at fault—they let the differences between themselves as adults and as parents spill over onto the children making the children victims of their disputes.

We appeal to you to pray for their own Thought Adjusters and guardians to be of service to these two parents, and to the children who will be coming into their spiritual emergence very soon. I know this is difficult for you to do, but it is something for your own peace of mind. And somehow, in your own life, and the life of the parents of these children, your own children and the parents of the other partner, that somehow there was something amiss when they were raised as well. We are not casting guilt upon you dear one, but we want you to examine what is occurring in that family that is perhaps a result of how they were raised. I apologize if this intrudes upon your own sensibilities and selfhood, yet it is a consideration that must be given attention. Thank you.

JT: I appreciate that I am not blameless in these intergenerational aspects, and have in fact, been presenting this as an opportunity to them to break the cycle of intergenerational patterns that have been set up. And it’s an opportunity I’m presenting this as an opportunity to them to do that—to make progress that both sets of their parents failed to make.

MM: This is Machiventa. I suggest also that you cast around in their neighborhood for services that are helpful to couples with emotional and social relationship problems that affect the parenting. These two aspects must be dealt with together in a coaching or counseling situation to be effective.

JT: I’ve encouraged them to do that, and they say no therapists are taking new clients on. They’re all stressed out. They’re all as busy as they can be, have as many clients as they can take care of, and they’re just not accepting new patients. I think it’s a part of the COVID thing, and, you know, all the anger in our society.

MM: Then we suggest that you send them a hard copy of a family resource….

Daniel: This is Daniel. He means manuscript 36, [Family Learning Centers for Sustainable Families] which I was just working on this morning. Chapter two would be something that they would want to give attention to, as this provides the pattern and the goals of parenting, which all parents should be aware of and use as they raise their own children and for adults as they re-parent themselves. Thank you.

JT: Thank you.

Abuse of a work for hire arrangement

Doug: Recently, I’ve had a young man come across the alley asking for some spot work, but this work greatly quickly devolved into just a handout. And then that handout always became excuses why he couldn’t work. So, I’m going to take this opportunity to be an influencer in his life lessons, and I’m going to try to remind him of who is responsible for his self-discipline. And then I was also going to try to work on just reiterating the six pillars of character that’s kind of been out there for in grade schools and such, and just kind of take that as an opportunity to kind of work with this kid, am I on the right track with this young man?

MM: Most certainly. Ensure that when he offers to do work for payment, food, or whatever, that he produces the work first according to your designs before receiving compensation.

Doug: That was my flaw. Thank you,

MM: We wish you well in your endeavor. This is an example of reaching out to those who are disinclined to care for themselves in primary ways. Thank you.

JT: All right. Well, that’s all we have today, Machiventa. Do you have a closing for us?

You are the pillars of light

MM: This is Machiventa. My benediction is this: I wish you to now open your hearts to receive this blessing, that you receive the blessing of Christ Michael and Nebadonia upon your heart and your mind, as you are their mortal children. You are parents to your own children, and [Christ Michael and Nebadonia] wish that their love for you and their concern for you and their abiding faith in you, spills over to your own children. This is a time of transition that will not pass very quickly. It is a time of enduring frustration, of seeing what ought to be done, and seeing what is occurring that is harmful and hugely detrimental to society, individuals, and to humanity and civilization itself. You are the pillars of light—of light consciousness upon the world. You are those steadfast search lights, lighthouses upon the beaches of humanity, which tell people this is the way. This is where light emanates from. It emanates from within you, and each of you can become a pillar of light, a beacon to others that you are loved and cared for even through the difficulties of the world surround you. Know that you live in this wonderful bubble of electric-blue light that we share with you always. Good day.

JT: Thank you Machiventa and thank you Daniel.
