Opening
I am ABRAHAM. Greetings. As I am here listening to you, I desire to spend more time with you. You are each captivating and I cherish our moments together. I am in understanding of the daily struggle between faith and animalistic tendencies. I understand your deep longings, for I have had them myself. It is quite a task to learn Father’s timing. To be still and accept what ‘is’ comes with a lot of anxiety. When we are conscious of practicing self-mastery, it is difficult to be patient, to wait for the outcome. Mortals tend to force and create struggle. There is no doubt hard work brings results, but in the spirit kingdom we practice to release the results to Father’s will.
Lesson
I am MARY. Greetings to all of you. I am always honored to be a part of your family circle. I am in appreciation of Abraham’s words this evening. I understand forcing your desires or allowing impatience to get the better of you.
Growing up in that time of desperation and longing, I felt like a lone soldier who was always in preparation for battle. As a young adult I had deep hatred for the world and blamed all it’s people for my loneliness and desperation. I would pray half-heartedly in a manner I had learned from others. It was more like wishing. If I thought long and hard enough about something, I could have it for myself. Of course, when my so-called prayers were not answered, I was in doubt that there was any kind of God. I really felt looked over and became resentful and rebellious.
I recall one day I had spotted a fresh loaf of bread on a windowsill. I quickly ran up there to steal it and as my hand went up, I saw these eyes watching me. Of course, it was the baker of the bread. I quickly pulled my hand back empty and started to run when the woman had called after me, “Come back, child.” I turned to look at her to see her expression and it was not angry, so I took a few steps forward to listen to what she had to say. She took the bread and broke off a large piece and handed it to me. No words were spoken. I was not yet again punished for my rebellious deeds, but handed a gift of compassion.
Everyday thereafter I would walk by this magical windowsill and there would be bread there waiting for me. How this softened my heart. How this turned around my mind. As I began to see through positive eyes, the world began to change. There was really a bit of compassion in the world. There were acts of kindness. There were mortals who struggled as I did. It was very helpful to me to have conversation with those who were like myself. We learned we could sit and complain or as we liked to call it, venting.
As I became closer to these individuals we would speak of positive solutions to everyday problems. What a blessing for me. How this opened my eyes to something that was really good out there. Make no mistake, the world still seemed to hand me my share of difficulties, but even these became challenges and I learned to act with integrity. It is true, you get what you give. I learned to give and receive graciously and it all seemed to begin with a slice of bread.
As we practice self-mastery, it is key to be honest with yourself. Worry not about any sort of punishment. Many people are deluding themselves, thinking that should they have honesty with self, that would reveal all to God and it probably wouldn’t look real good. Father is not judging your every move. He knows your needs and understands your frailties. Self honesty is freedom and a strong connection to spirit. As we move about in our everyday lives, we are in understanding of how important integrity is. We must be people that can be trusted.
Closing
As you open your hearts this week to receive new understanding, let us make effort to see the good in the world. Let us make effort to add to the good. Be open to new avenues, for Father may have you working overtime. There is a great deal of work to be done and individuals will come and go. Remember the Master ministered as He passed by. You are a lovely bunch and I am blessed to be among you. Know that Abraham and myself are available during the week should you have need. Just sit down and be quiet, we will be there. You know we are growing more in love with you each every time we meet and with that we shall bid you shalom.
