ABRAHAM: I am ABRAHAM. Greetings.
Lesson
ABRAHAM: I am familiar with this time of year being about the birth of Jesus on the planet. We can all see how commercialism is taking over. This time of year has shown itself to be about materialism and I do say that is a good thing. It is a step up in evolutionary thinking. In the breakdown of various traditions we can see that what is in the hearts and minds of men is more important than words on paper or repeated traditions.
Why is it at this time of year that goodwill is supposed to be more prevalent than any other time of the year? As the Urantian mortal mind evolves we will probably see the worst that mankind has to offer, which will instigate the good within. There are various phases throughout history that have shown mankind to struggle between embracing the animal within or likening itself to higher-mindedness.
I am saying that on a normal evolutionary planet that these events are most likely to occur. When individuals have faith, the bitter cup of mortal living is more understandable. When difficult times rain down upon mortals and they embrace faith instead of animal instinct, then is there advancement in mind, not just in the mind of mortals, but also in the cosmic mind and the Supreme Being.
We can view the world in a pitiful state—wars, natural disasters, unjust governments, and be saddened or we can embrace faith and know that these terrible occurrences are natural on an evolutionary world and better things are to come. Just like the Christmas season being about materialism, man is becoming worn out and is searching for something more meaningful. This is good. Man does not have to embrace a baby in a manger but ponder God’s presence as the ultimate caretaker of the Universe.
In the past year many of you have suffered some pain, some loss and I am saying if you would desire to have understanding and advancement therefrom, it is wholly possible. We must stand firm in our faith — not in tradition, but in our personal relationship with the Father and the subsequent caretakers, Michael and Mother.
As your calendar moves you into a new year, let us go boldly into it with renewed faith and coping skills that will help us to embrace life as it is and know it can and will be better. I am happy to see each of you making a change that says you care not what people think,. You know who you are and you are with the freedom to be that person. You are logical, loving and always open to learning new ways. I am with gratitude to know each of you.
Closing
ABRAHAM: That is all for this evening. I do believe next time we will take any questions you might have. Mary sends her regards. I am also relaying to you my abiding love. Go in peace. Until next time, shalom.
