Subject: “Self-Observation.”

Thought Adjuster: “The thing that differentiates human beings from animals is their capacity for self-observation. Both animals and human beings live in the world and interact with their environment. They can experience and learn. But human beings can transcend this level and realize that they are alive. They can observe themselves as they live their lives. This ability to transcend their level of existence suggests that there is a super-material aspect to human beings.

“This superior level of consciousness is not fully utilized by many. In this world, a large majority lives and acts in a barely conscious way. They work and relate to each other, they live and die without ever stopping and taking some time to ponder their existence and consider what they have achieved on the path they have traveled.

“Self-observation is fundamental to attaining eternal life. Those who strive to live according to the will of our Father should always be awake, always aware of their actions and their decisions. They should learn to constantly observe their own thoughts and actions, making the necessary adjustments to move closer to their eternal goals.

“Prayer and the desire to be better are great motivators for the human will. However, humans must actively participate in their own transformation and their own spiritual elevation. Only those who have their sights put on their final destination will reach it. Nobody starts a journey walking blindly with the hope of reaching their destination. Those who get there are the ones that stop every few steps to check the map and look for the signs along the road, adjusting their course as needed.

“Practice self-observation as often as possible. Open your mind, pay attention and remember that you are awake, that you are conscious and that you are a child of God striving to attain the goal of perfection to be like your Creator Father. Through constant self-observation you will always be certain of where you are on your path and you will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you are moving toward your destination. Thus you will find the necessary inspiration to redouble your efforts when the difficulties of life make you stumble and you will experience an increasing closeness to your Inner Master, being ever more aware of how your relationship with your Father grows.”
