Thought Adjuster: “Many of you use some form of entertainment to take your mind away from the present moment, to somehow silence your thoughts, virtually avoiding experiencing the present. With all the distractions available to you (television, radio, internet, mobile phones, and more, you feel like something is missing when you step away from these distractions. This, of course, is a fallacy, because in your being you possess everything you really need to live.
“The way to overcome this addiction is to progressively move away from these lower forms of entertainment and replace them with activities that provide real fulfillment for your soul and your spirit. Be careful to not confuse this with disregarding the importance of reversion and rest. Instead, the purpose is to disassociate the repose you need from a dependency on something external, namely the availability of some electronic device.
“The best activity for the repose of your mind and your soul is the communion with the Divine Spark, spending time alone with your celestial Father to receive what He offers you every day. Another important activity is social encounters — the relationships with your peers. Talking to another person or getting to know a new friend, can be very stimulating for the mind and the soul. Do not disregard your relationships with others — especially the members of your immediate family. It is through contact — spending time together, conversation and mutual interest in the wellbeing of the other — that the relationships in life become stronger and are infused with eternal potential.
“The supreme experience for a human being is finding and progressively knowing God during his or her life. God can only be found within your own being and within your brothers and sisters in this world. Isn’t it obvious then what is the best way to invest your time in this world? Remember how the Master dedicated so much of His time to relate to strangers and to know His peers, deriving great joy from this task as He lived the will of His Father. Human in loneliness will not prosper and the relationships with others are what makes your life worth living and teaches you the true meaning of belonging to a universal family, as children of the same Creator and active participants in His eternal plan.”
